Our group is also very science-y and wanted more overt STEM in the videos. They didn’t care about the character building aspects of the videos. In fact, early on we had a few complaints that the videos didn’t really fit with our program as well as they might. So, my partner and I tried to stress some of the STEM aspects over the personal ones in the videos. Since these ended up being the less productive parts of our conversation, we have moved the videos to the last half hour to 45 minutes of the program and that seems to work for us.
