For motion I am thinking I will do The Leavers by Lisa Ko. The main character has many similarities to Daryl in the video clip. The story is a beautifully written example of the motion of a persons life, the changes in attitude and needs. I believe my participants will enjoy it. The affects of setting and surroundings also influence characters in book as well as video. As far as relating both stories to STEM, there’s an element of where there’s a will there’s a way. Daryl in the video and Daniel in my chosen book set their minds to something and stop at nothing to accomplish that. A loose relation to nature vs nurture argument. Also, the main character is adopted, so that plays into our genetics and tendencies vs environment we are raised in.
