For Heritage we read “Everything I Never Told You” by CELESTE NG. This book is about a white and Chinese mixed race family living in the early 1970’s in Northwest Ohio. There is a disappearance of a young girl and the stories of personal histories that precede it. There is also issues of race and gender, without straying from the riveting emotional territory that makes up the cornerstones of family: what is given, what is withheld, and what can never be known.
Next we will read “A man called Ove”. I am pretty sad knowing that will be the last one. I do have a few new people in my group, so hoping we can continue this and I feel confident that I can.
