Muir Library in Winnebago, MN is also reading “Station Eleven” by Emily St. John Mandel for Tradition. I thought about using a book that was related to sports to go along with the video, but then I thought about my community. I decided not to because I will have attendees who resonate more with sports and teams in the video and some who resonate with the arts/humanity aspect in the book and I think there will be a strong discussion about the theme of tradition from each aspect and it may bring some community members together that don’t necessarily think they have anything in common. Some reviews I’ve read of Station Eleven say it is a difficult book to follow because it jumps back and forth in time, but I’m going to try it anyway!
